Moldovan PM discusses with residents of village from central Hancesti district
Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, on a working visit to the central Hancesti district, went to the Carpineni commune, where she visited the Stefan Holban Theoretical Lyceum. In the commune, the PM also discussed with residents and the mayor of the settlement the achievements registered, as well as the sectors in need of additional investments, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The prime minister visited lyceum’s classrooms, endowed this year with modern equipment within the Education Reform in Moldova project, implemented by the Education and Research Ministry’s with the World Bank’s support. The pupils of the education institution prepared also a short artistic recital, thus thanking for the support provided to the young generation.
Natalia Gavrilita thanked the pupils for carols and reiterated the cabinet’s intention to continue the programmes on development and support for children and young people, so that Moldova becomes a safe and prosperous place for the generations educated.
„I was in Carpineni for the first time in the full swing of the refugees’ crisis and I saw how your community got involved in the management of this crisis – with solidarity, unity and much generosity for the people who were fleeing the war. Due to this fact, we have got to be recognized all over the world as a small country, but with a great heart and to change the perception about Moldova internationally. I thank you for this on behalf of the entire government. Special thanks also to the pupils of this institution for a warm reception. We will continue investing, just as we invested in your school and to work, in order to guarantee you a prosperous future,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
Also, the PM discussed with residents of the village the measures undertaken by the cabinet for backing the population and economic agents on this period marked by crises. Natalia Gavrilita referred also to the increase in salaries, programme of compensations for energy, fiscal policies for supporting entrepreneurs and jobs, as well as the decisions on consolidating the incomes of the public authorities, which will contribute to the improvement of the citizens’ living standards.
“We will continue to come up with programmes meant to help the people on this period and with transformations in the key sectors of the economy, so that, in five years, we can look back and make sure that we were not only strong and took good decisions, but we also became energy independent, reorganized the economy, innovated and sped up the way of development. On behalf of the government, we will work hard to help and facilitate this process of Moldova’s transformation into a really European country,’’ Natalia Gavrilita told those present in the hall.
At the discussions, the mayor of the commune, Ion Carpineanu, touched upon the process of implementation of the European Village project, from the fund of which the Community Centre will be reconstructed. The mayor urged also other colleagues to benefit from opportunities offered by the cabinet and foreign partners for local development.
„We wanted, along with the team, to develop our commune and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of living of the citizens who gave us a mandate of confidence. We learned to write projects for financing and, due to this fact, we managed to renovate the school and a string other projects are under implementation. Therefore, I urge all my colleagues to prove active civic spirit and a pro-business orientation,’’ Carpineanu noted.
The citizens showed interest in the benefits the Public Administration’s Reform Strategy would bring and spoke about the challenges they faced, noting the bureaucratic obstacles in the agriculture and production sectors.
