Government expands categories of beneficiaries of one-off aid of 5,000 lei
The government is expanding the list of beneficiaries for one-off aid worth 5,000 lei. This will also be offered to individuals with a severe disability degree who do not receive a disability pension but benefit from other types of pensions: age, survivor's or special pensions.
Payments will be proactively provided to beneficiaries through 3 methods: to the existing social card where they already receive certain social benefits (allowances, monthly allocations, etc.); to the bank card identified by the Government which is used by beneficiaries and introduced into the databases of the National Social Insurance House; in cash at postal offices if beneficiaries do not have any social or bank card, starting from July 2025.
Currently, about 2,400 people fall into the list of new beneficiaries of one-off aid of 5,000 lei and the budget for this purpose is 10.1 million lei. The one-off aid can be collected until 26 December 2025.
