Prime Minister meets with Poland’s Prime Minister
Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu held a meeting today with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference – URC2026, held in Gdańsk. The officials discussed the latest achievements on the Republic of Moldova’s path to European integration and the valuable support provided by Poland.
The two prime ministers noted the importance of the recent opening of official negotiations on Cluster 1 – Fundamental Values, which marks a new stage in the EU accession process. Munteanu thanked Poland for its constant support for our country, both at the political level and through practical assistance provided at key moments.
“Our objective is to maintain the pace of reforms and to advance as quickly as possible in the negotiation process, based on merit and the results achieved,” said Prime Minister Munteanu, highlighting the Republic of Moldova’s interest in continuing to benefit from Poland’s experience in the accession process, institutional modernization, and preparation for integration into the European single market.
The officials also discussed the continuation of cooperation in the field of security and defense, opportunities to expand economic relations, and attracting Polish investments to the Republic of Moldova. The two prime ministers underlined that a stronger and more resilient Moldova contributes directly to the stability and security of the entire region.
