VIDEO // Moldova explores opportunities to import liquefied natural gas from United States

Moldova is seeking to diversify its natural gas supply sources through cooperation with American producers and exporters. Moldova’s Ambassador to the United States Vlad Kulminski has made statements to this effect at the America’s LNG Summit held in Louisiana.

The diplomat said he had discussed with representatives of American companies concrete possibilities for cooperation and opportunities to deliver more liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Moldova and Ukraine.

“We want to bring more American energy to Moldova at good prices and build long-term partnerships,” Vlad Kulminski said in a post.

According to the ambassador, the rapid development of the American liquefied natural gas industry, supported by billions of dollars in investments and advanced technologies, is creating new opportunities to diversify Moldova’s energy supplies.

Vlad Kulminski stressed that access to multiple gas sources might reduce the country’s vulnerability to dependence on a single supplier and enable energy to be purchased under more advantageous conditions.

“For us, this means more sources, more competition and less vulnerability,” the diplomat noted.

The ambassador said that discussions with American producers and exporters had focused on identifying cooperation opportunities that could serve as the basis for long-term partnerships.
