Moldovan president delivers message to all citizens, electoral contenders at start of electoral campaign for September 28 parliamentary elections
Today marks the beginning of the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections due on September 28. On this occasion, President Maia Sandu addressed a message to both the electoral competitors and all citizens.
“On September 28, Moldova will elect its parliament for the next four years – the institution where the direction of our country will be decided from now on. What is at stake is the very fate of Moldova, and together, we have the duty to protect our peace and the chance for a better future. I trust in Moldovans and our wisdom to defend our freedom and future,” emphasized President Maia Sandu.
The head of state also urged all electoral contenders to understand their responsibility towards the citizens and to act strictly in the national interest, to observe the law and to serve only the citizens of Moldova.
At the same time, President Maia Sandu urged all citizens not to be drawn into dirty schemes of electoral corruption and to get informed correctly from official sources. “Report to the police when you witness electoral corruption, be attentive to all information, letters, calls, fake videos, that we will be bombarded with in the coming period, help relatives and friends to get informed correctly; let us stay united and steadfast, so that Moldova emerges victorious,” the head of state stressed.
