Moldovan president attends Moldova Youth Forum 2025

President Maia Sandu today attended the Moldova Youth Forum 2025, an event held in Chisinau, which gathered over 400 young people from across the country, who are actively involved in their communities.

The head of state discussed with the young participants at the event the historical opportunity for Moldova to become part of the European Union and the decisive role that played by young people play in this journey. "We talked about what democracy means for each of us, what happens when we lose it, and how we educate young people to cherish and protect it. It's important that we have true democratic exercises in schools, universities and communities – so that young people get used to participating in decision-making processes and understand the importance of their involvement," said President Maia Sandu.

The Moldova Youth Forum is one of the most important national platforms dedicated to young leaders of Moldova. Launched in 2022, the forum has managed to create an open space for dialogue, innovation and active participation, bringing together young people from all regions of the country to discuss essential topics regarding the future of Moldova. At each edition, the Moldova Youth Forum has connected the younger generation with decision-makers, experts and international partners. The agenda of this year event includes plenary sessions, topic-related discussions and workshops dedicated to major topics of interest for young people: from civic participation and education to European integration, leadership and combating disinformation.
