AMDM experts presented in detail the provisions of Law no. 153/2025 on medicines, from the perspective of the necessity of mandatory enforcement of the national regulatory framework in the health sector, adjusted to European Union’s legislation, including regulations in the pharmaceutical field, which represent an essential step in aligning Moldova with EU standards.

Simultaneously, the experts outlined the current legal procedures regarding the import of medicines applicable to distributors conducting pharmaceutical activities, including economic operators in the Transnistrian region.

The participants reiterated the responsibility for strict compliance with the legal requirements concerning the stages of authorization, distribution, monitoring and quality control of medicines imported into Moldova by authorized pharmaceutical distributors.

At the same time, the field experts addressed issues related to providing emergency medical assistance to requesters in the region, as well as the inter-hospital consultation and transfer service for patients from the left bank of the Dniester River, in accordance with applicable legal norms and with the obligations assumed in the public health sphere.

Secretary of State Ion Prisacaru said that, by Moldova's accession to the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM), an initiative of the World Health Organization and UNICEF (St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital), access to free and uninterrupted safe and quality pediatric oncology medicines for all children diagnosed with cancer, including those from the Transnistrian region, is ensured, thus contributing to strengthening childhood cancer treatment, improving clinical outcomes and aligning medical practices with international standards.

Experts emphasized the importance of maintaining a constant technical-level dialogue, in order to align the pharmaceutical market and ensure the supply of medicines, in compliance with current standards throughout the country's entire territory, including in the eastern regions.
