Nominal composition of parliamentary working group on Gagauzia established in Moldova

The nominal composition has been established for the working group tasked with ensuring, within the framework of constitutional norms, the functionality of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia and the harmonization of Moldova’s with the special status of the UTA Gagauzia. An order to this effect was signed by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

The composition of the working group was established based on proposals submitted by all parliamentary factions. It will be made up of 11 members. Six of them are representatives of the Action and Solidarity Party’s (PAS) parliamentary faction and each opposition faction has designated one member. MP Larisa Voloh was appointed co-chair of the working group.

The working group serves as a platform for permanent dialogue between the Parliament of Moldova and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia. This cooperation mechanism was established in 2015, and the working group consists of an equal number of lawmakers from Chisinau and Comrat.
