The completed projects, those under implementation and priorities for the next year have been the main topics addressed by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu at a meeting with representatives of local public administration and deconcentrated services from the central Calarasi district.

The mayors appreciated the achievements of recent years, especially the construction of the bypass road of Bahmut commune, the equipping of medical institutions in the district and the renovation of schools. Also, the local elected officials emphasized the importance of the Chisinau - Straseni - Calarasi main aqueduct, which is under construction.

"When there is serious work and a focus on the needs of communities, results do not delay in appearing. Calarasi is an example of mobilization and today's visit confirmed to me that we can solve the present problems together and that local modernization can continue at an even faster pace," said the prime minister.

At the same time, the mayors noted regional problems: the condition of local roads, stray dogs and limited financial resources for major projects.

The government has invested about 132 million lei through the two editions of the European Village Programme for the modernization of localities from the Calarasi district. Water supply and sewerage systems were built, public lighting was extended, sports halls and fields were modernized and kindergartens, schools and cultural houses were renovated.

Additionally, under the national afforestation programme, trees were planted on an area of 625 hectares.

Furthermore, in recent years, the state has modernized medical institutions in the Calarasi district. Thus, the Calarasi District Hospital was endowed with advanced medical equipment, the Calarasi Emergency Medical Assistance Service was repaired and equipped with three ambulances and the Calarasi Health Center building was renovated and made energy efficient.
