Prime Minister in dialogue with Hungarian Ambassador
Opportunities for attracting Hungarian investments in the Republic of Moldova and strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Ambassador of Hungary to our country Sandor Szabo.
The officials discussed the efforts of Chișinău authorities to implement reforms in key areas and fulfill the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova. Hungary supports our country's European path through practical assistance provided to public officials who will have a key position in the negotiation and integration process into the EU. To learn from Hungary's experience, they benefit from training and capacity-building programs.
Another topic discussed concerned the Moldovan-Hungarian economic cooperation. The Prime Minister talked about investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the ongoing economic reforms aimed at creating a favorable business environment for investors. In 2026, the two countries plan to hold a meeting of the Moldovan-Hungarian Joint Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation.
Among the fields with collaboration opportunities are tourism, agriculture, energy security, infrastructure and digitalization.
