The members of the Joint Control Commission today held a meeting in the city of Bender, during which they approved a decision to appoint two military observers on behalf of Moldova.

The main focus remained on issues related to the removal of obstacles to the free movement of citizens on public routes in the Security Zone, as well as access to the Security Zone and to the Commission’s meetings for media representatives from the right bank of Dniester, so that they can exercise their professional duties without hindrance.

The Delegation of Moldova informed the participants about the intention of the State Roads’ Administration to carry out technical inspections of the bridges over the Dniester River, in order to assess their condition and plan the necessary repair works. The inspections will take place during June–July, this year, and Chisinau has requested that no obstacles be allowed to hinder the specialists in performing the works planned.
