Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a draft law, aimed at enhancing the accessibility of the services of delivery of international postal parcels through encouraging the competition.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the goal of the legislative initiative is to ensure possibility for the users of the services of delivery of international parcels to be informed online about the tariffs of these services, provided by various suppliers, in order to choose the best supply.

New provisions are introduced through the amendments made to the law on postal communications, which will establish:

- the presentation by the regulatory authority of the list of tariffs applicable for the services provided by the suppliers of services of parcels’ delivery;

- publication of the list of tariffs on the webpage of the regulatory authority;

- establishing the proper powers of the regulatory authority, including as regards the tariffs’ assessment.

The measures will contribute to the improvement of the services of delivery of international parcels; will lead to the transparentizing of these lists and to the protection of end consumers.

Additionally, decision-makers will change the term of transfer of the regulatory and monitoring payment, which is made by providers, based on the report on the income coming from activities of postal services’ delivery.
