Summer camps for children and teenagers preparing for 2026 season
Recreation camps are to be prepared for the 2026 summer season by 15 May 2026, and day-stay camps by 25 May 2026, according to a decision on the organization of recreation for children and teenagers, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document sets out the actions necessary to prepare the recreation camps and the responsibilities of the institutions involved, as well as ensuring access for vulnerable categories of children. The camps will be equipped with the necessary inventory and equipment, and will comply with public health, food safety, fire safety and public order requirements.
Central and local public authorities will grant free of charge 25% of the allocated tickets to children in difficulty, children left without parental care, children from disadvantaged or large families, children with disabilities and other vulnerable categories. The remaining tickets in the recreation camps will be sold at an 80% discount from the ticket price.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Research will purchase 600 tickets for pupils from general education institutions in the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova and the municipality of Bender, subordinated to the ministry, as well as 375 tickets for refugee children, children of asylum seekers, beneficiaries of temporary protection and children from Ukraine.
The cost for one day in recreation camps funded from the state budget varies between 315 and 479 lei, depending on the type of camp. In total, the state is allocating around 24 million lei this year for these services, through the National Social Insurance House (CNAS), as well as through the budgets of local public authorities.
