Agreement on establishing Alliance for European Moldova made public
Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - The agreement on the establishment and functioning of the Political Alliance for European Moldova (APME) was made public today.
Under the agreement, "the Alliance deems the continuation of Moldova's strategic path of European integration a national priority". "The Alliance’s efforts will be directed towards achieving the current and medium-term objectives: pressing ahead with the carrying out of reforms to improve the living standards of citizens by ensuring economic growth, attracting foreign investments and job creation, implementation of Association Agenda's stages", says the agreement.
According to the Annexes to the Agreement, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will have nine ministries under its control and the Democratic Party (PDM) - seven ministries. At the same time, the two parties agreed that the post of parliament speaker belonged to PDM, and the one of prime minister to PLDM, while the presidential office cannot be shared. In this respect, the agreement says that "the sides, in 30 days after the creation of the Alliance, shall set up an expert panel with the participation of representatives delegated by European partners, to develop recommendations and solutions to elect a new president of Moldova."
Under the agreement, the sides have committed to support the Alliance’s government, "not to participate in any way to triggering early elections and give up mutual political attacks able to destabilise the political situation in Moldova."
The Agreement on establishing APME was signed by PLDM and PD leaders Vlad Filat and Marian Lupu on 23 January.
