Bulgarian Prime Minister on visit to Moldova

Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rossen Jeliazkov is visiting the Republic of Moldova on July 27-28, 2025. During the visit, discussions will focus on the bilateral agenda, Bulgaria's support for our country's European path, and the strengthening of bilateral relations in education.

Today Prime Minister Dorin Recean will welcome his Bulgarian counterpart at the Government House. After a tête-à-tête meeting, as well as extended format discussions with delegation members, they will hold a joint press conference.

Subsequently, the officials will travel to Taraclia district, to meet with local public authorities.They will attend the ceremony for signing the agreement by which the former Taraclia University becomes a branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, Bulgaria.

On 28 July, Jeliazkov will have meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and Speaker Igor Grosu.

The Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Bulgaria on 5 February 1992.

Throughout 2024, the Republic of Bulgaria ranked 10th among the main trading partners of the Republic of Moldova worldwide, with a share of 2.1% of the total trade volume. The foreign trade value of the Republic of Moldova with Bulgaria in 2024 amounted to 267.7 million USD.
