EU Partnership Mission in Moldova launched in Chisinau
Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - The European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova was launched in Chisinau on 31 May. The mission will be led by Cosmin Dinescu and has the goal to consolidate the capacities of management of crises from Moldova and to enhance the country’s resilience to the hybrid threats, including as regards the cyber security and counteracting the foreign actions of misinformation.
Attending the ceremony on the launch of the mission were High Representatives of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu and Interior Minister Ana Revenco.
According to the European official, the efforts of Moldova’s destabilization have considerably grown since the beginning of Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine and represent a direct threat to the stability and security of Moldova and the mission will contribute to the enhancement of Moldova’s resilience.
Josep Borrell, who in Chisinau to participate in the EPC Summit, attended also the ceremony on the presentation of the first equipment received through European Peace Facility.
