
First discussion between Moldovan foreign minister and Romania's new minister of foreign affairs
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popșoi had a phone conversation today with Romania's new Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Țoiu, recently appointed.
The Chișinău official congratulated the head of Romanian diplomacy on taking office and wished success in her new position. He also extended an official invitation for her to visit the Republic of Moldova in the near future.
“Romania remains the closest partner of the Republic of Moldova, and its support for our European path, energy security, connectivity, and economic development is very important,” Popșoi said.
The two officials reaffirmed the special nature of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, based on historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, as well as the strategic partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.
The parties agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest, to bring tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the Prut River.
