Moldovan MPs to convene at final plenary meeting of current session, with 33 drafts on agenda
The MPs on July 30 will convene at the last plenary meeting of the first ordinary session of 2026. The meeting’s agenda includes 33 draft acts, nine of which were added through a supplement approved by the parliament’s standing bureau today.
Among the draft laws to be examined, there are two legislative initiatives aimed at harmonizing national legislation with European Union norms. They concern the development of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and the strengthening of procedural safeguards for persons under criminal investigation.
The lawmakers will also examine more draft laws on the ratification of international agreements and conventions. They include documents related to financing projects for micro, small- and medium-sized enterprises, the Livada Moldovei II (Moldova’s Orchard) project, the protection of farm animals and during international transport, as well as the co-production of audiovisual works in the form of series.
In the second reading, the parliament is to discuss the draft law on strengthening the system of protection of the child against violence, neglect and exploitation, as well as the initiative on the identification and registration of animals.
The parliament's standing bureau has earlier approved the basic agenda for the plenary meeting, which includes the examination of 24 draft normative acts, to which another nine were added.
The plenary meeting will start on July 30, at 10:00.
