Moldovan agriculture minister submits application on resignation
Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Radu Musteata has submitted his application on resignation. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan made statements to this effect today morning.
“Radu Musteata, the Minister of Agriculture, submitted his application on resignation today, which I have accepted. It was a personal decision, an act of responsibility taken to protect public trust in the government and in the act of governing. I respect this decision,” said Vasile Tofan.
At the same time, the PM emphasized that the work of Agriculture Ministry would continue without interruption, and the appointment of a new minister will take place as soon as possible.
Radu Musteata issued a message in the context of submitting his resignation. He said that the government must implement, in the immediate period, a string of important and complex reforms, and that, in order to preserve citizens’ trust, he considered it an act of responsibility to step down.
“The government must ensure, on the immediate next period, a string of important and complex reforms necessary to guarantee the well-being of the citizens of Moldova, and in order to preserve trust I considered it an act of responsibility to resign. The professionalism and integrity I demonstrate must not be undermined and eroded by false and manipulative information. I thank everyone for support, appreciation and encouragement,” said Radu Musteata.
