Moldovan Central Electoral Commission starts printing ballot papers for second round of new local elections
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has announced that it has started printing the ballot papers for the second round of the new local elections for the position of mayor. The vote that will take place on May 31.
According to the CEC, the total print run of ballot papers is 41,824 copies. As many as 28,766 of them will be printed in Romanian, 12,458 in Russian and 600 in Bulgarian.
For the elections in Rusestii Noi, Ialoveni district, 4,607 ballot papers will be printed; for Orhei – 25,549 ballot papers and for Taraclia – 11,668 ballot papers.
Each ballot paper is 14 centimeters wide and 12.8 centimeters long. The cost of one ballot paper is 0.90 lei, and the total value of the print run amounts to 37,641.60 lei.
The second round of the new local elections for the position of mayor will be held in these three localities, after no candidate got the majority of votes in the first round of the elections, held on May 17.
