Moldovan PM says many things are to be done, Romania stays Moldova's strategic partner
Romania remains the strategic partner of Moldova, in the context of implementing the development projects initiated by our country. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has made statements to this effect, after his participation, together with Romania’s acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in the event, Strong Mayoralties - Developed Localities, organized today in Chisinau.
The PM emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two states for the implementation of infrastructure, healthcare and education projects. He also thanked Romania and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for the support offered to our country.
“I thank Ilie Bolojan for being here with us today, bringing his extensive experience not only in the government of Romania, but also as mayor for a period of 12 years. I had the opportunity to visit Oradea more times and see how it is transforming. We have much to do and Romania remains our strategic partner. It is more than just a neighboring country. I thank all our colleagues from Romania and especially Mr. Ilie Bolojan for everything he is doing,” stated Alexandru Munteanu.
At the same time, the prime minister condemned the drone attack that took place on May 29 morning on a residential building in the city of Galati, an incident in which two people needed medical care and dozens of residents were evacuated.
“Regrettably, we live in an unpredictable world, and we expressed our concern and outrage about what happened last night with the drone that struck peaceful citizens. I was in Kyiv when the war in Ukraine began, and I will never forget the morning of February 24, 2022. Regrettably, the war is coming closer, but we will work together on strengthening our resilience. We will continue to work with our partners in Europe. I thank our brothers across the Prut for supporting our European path. We will succeed,” concluded Alexandru Munteanu.
Romania’s acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan paid a visit to Chisinau today, to take part in the event, Strong Mayoralties - Developed Settlements. However, the official was forced to cut his visit short, because of the situation triggered by the crash of a Russian drone into a residential block in Galati.
