Moldovan parliament speaker says drone attack on Galati serious, unacceptable act

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has condemned the Russian drone attack on the city of Galati, Romania. The official said that this action represented “a serious and unacceptable act.”.

The speaker emphasized that “Russia has directly struck the territory of Romania, a neighboring state, a friend of Moldova and a close partner of our citizens.”

“We condemn in the strongest terms the Russian drone attack on the city of Galati in Romania. This is a serious and unacceptable act. This attack reminds us once again that the war is not far away. It is at our border, endangering human lives and threatening the security of the entire Europe. Russia does not bring peace, stability or safety. Russia brings fear, destruction and suffering,” Igor Grosu said.

The speaker expressed his solidarity with Romania and the residents of the city of Galati.

“We stand in full solidarity with Romania, with the Romanian authorities and with the residents of the Galati city. Our thoughts are with those who have suffered. We wish them a speedy recovery and much strength,” Igor Grosu said.

A drone involved in the bombing of infrastructure in Ukraine crashed last night in Galati, Romania, causing a fire on the roof of a residential building. Two people were slightly injured and the building was evacuated.
