Moldovan citizens to travel visa-free to United Arab Emirates
Moldovan citizens will be able to travel visa-free to the United Arab Emirates. The government today approved a decision on signing Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on mutual abolition of the visa regime.
The document stipulates that valid passports holders will no longer need a visa for stay within the United Arab Emirates. The facility will be valid for a period not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day calendar period.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi said at the cabinet meeting that following the removal of the visa regime, there could be an increase in economic, cultural and academic exchanges.
“Facilitating travel conditions for citizens of the two states is a visible proof of the authorities' concern for carrying out citizens' rights to free movement. As a result of the removal of the visa regime, there could be an increase in economic, cultural, and academic exchanges. The signing of the Memorandum reflects the positive attitude of the United Arab Emirates authorities towards our country, as well as willingness to boost and develop bilateral relations,” said Mihai Popșoi.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized in the context of approving the project that the Republic of Moldova is increasingly recognized as a reliable partner.
