Moldovan president meets Montenegro's counterpart

Today President Maia Sandu is paying an official visit to Montenegro. The official held a meeting with country's President Jakov Milatović.

'I began my official visit to Montenegro, an EU candidate country, with a warm and productive meeting with President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović. We are united by our European aspirations and a shared commitment to building better lives for our people,' said Maia Sandu.

The official visit to Montenegro is taking place at the invitation of President Jakov Milatović. This follows Maia Sandu's participation on 16 May in the sixth edition of the European Political Community Summit, held in Tirana, Albania. On 17 May, in Tirana, Maia Sandu had a bilateral meeting with Albania's President Bajram Begaj.

Therefore, the visits of the head of state will contribute to better coordination and cooperation in the accession process, through the exchange of experience and the strengthening of bilateral relationships.
