New tool for planning electoral activities: calendar program for organizing elections digitalized

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has developed a modern tool for planning and monitoring electoral activities. In this context, the institution is testing the digital version of the Calendar Program for carrying out actions related to the organization and conduct of the new local elections and local referendums of 17 May 2026, as well as for the local referendum of 21 June 2026.

The new platform, available at https://calendar.cec.md, is designed to facilitate quick access to information relevant to the electoral process.

The application is interactive and offers users the possibility to view the activities of electoral bodies and other electoral stakeholders, depending on the selected date; access the deadlines for carrying out the actions provided for in the Calendar Program; use search filters to quickly identify the desired activities; track the total number of actions included in the Program, those completed, those in progress, and the activities active for the selected day; consult details on each activity, including the applicable legal framework and execution deadlines.

On 17 May 2026, new local elections will take place in the village of Costești and the commune of Ruseștii Noi in Ialoveni district; the village of Mașcăuți, Criuleni district; the commune of Sărătenii Vechi, Telenești district; the town of Taraclia, Taraclia district; the municipality of Orhei, Orhei district; the village of Topala, Cimișlia district; the village of Copceac, Gagauzia; the village of Plop, Dondușeni district; and the commune of Frumușica, Florești district.

On the same day, local referendums will be held on the dismissal of the mayor of the village of Hăsnășenii Mari, Drochia district, and the commune of Sadîc, Cantemir district.
