Foreign Ministry’s reaction to lawsuit filed by former ambassador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today provided clarifications regarding the lawsuit filed by former Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to India Ana Taban, who claims she was recalled from her post and subsequently dismissed from the MFA without grounds.

According to the MFA, the lawsuit has been received, and the institution’s position will be presented within the appropriate legal proceedings.

"This position aims to ensure a fair trial and the examination of the case takes place exclusively in court, without pressure or speculation in the public space," the MFA said.

Ana Taban was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to India in early September 2023. The Government decided to recall her on August 6, 2025.

The former ambassador posted a video on social networks today in which she stated that she had been recalled from her post and subsequently dismissed from the MFA without grounds. Consequently, she filed a lawsuit against the MFA.
