Moldovan MPs to convene at plenary meeting on May 7; agenda includes draft laws on sport, energy, European integration

The parliament’s standing bureau has approved the agenda for the plenary meeting due May 7. The MPs’ agenda includes more draft laws in the economic, social and European integration fields.

Thus, in the first reading, the lawmakers are to consider draft laws on the organization and work of the parliament, as well as on declaring public utility of national interest for works aimed at developing regional waste management infrastructure.

Also in the first reading, the MPs will discuss draft laws concerning the Moldova’s participation in European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC), and amendments to the Customs Code, which provide for the simplification of the procedure for removing from the customs territory of vehicles that were temporarily brought into the country.

The agenda also includes legislative initiatives in the fields of road traffic safety, accounting and financial reporting, social protection, metrology and accreditation, as well as amendments regarding physical education and sport, meant to attract investments in this sector.

In the second reading, the lawmakers will examine draft laws concerning public institutions, as well as amendments on the regime of plant protection products and seeds.

In addition, the deputies are to approve the appointment of Daniel Mititelu as Director of the Management Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE).
