Moldovan president: €1.9 billion support from EU to allow to speed up reforms, strengthen resilience

The €1.9 billion support from the European Union to the Republic of Moldova will allow us to speed up reforms, boost economy and strengthen resilience to growing challenges. President Maia Sandu made the statement after the European Parliament and EU member states agreed on a new support plan for Moldova.

“We are grateful to the EU member states and Europarliamentarians for approving the Growth Plan, worth €1.9 billion for Moldova. This support will allow us to accelerate reforms, boost economy and strengthen resilience to growing challenges. Thank you for standing by Moldova,” said Maia Sandu.



 

“Thank you, dear friends of Moldova! Together we are stronger,” Speaker Igor Grosu said.

The European Parliament and EU member states agreed on 19 February on a new support plan for the Republic of Moldova, worth €1.9 billion. The new facility is meant to accelerate Moldova's socio-economic reforms, strengthen resilience and advance its EU integration.
