Books collected in Library under Christmas Tree campaign donated to kindergarten of north Moldova village

Sets of books collected as part of the Library under the Christmas Tree campaign have been donated by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu to the children attending the Alunelul kindergarten in the village of Rublenita, northern Soroca district.

The Alunelul kindergarten of Rublenita was the first institution visited by Alexandru Munteanu during his today’s visit to Soroca.

“I started my working visit to Soroca district at the Alunelul kindergarten in the village of Rublenita. I greeted the children – curious, creative, and with great plans for the future. They told me that they love stories, and I was glad to be able to give them a box of books collected during the Library under the Christmas Tree campaign, because the love of reading is nurtured from the very first years of life,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

The preschool educational institution was built in the 1960s and, in recent years, has benefited from renovation works with the financial support of the government.

“We found a preschool institution that provides children with safe conditions for growth and spaces adapted for study and play. A modern, safe and energy-efficient kindergarten is a European standard that we are building step by step across the whole country,” emphasized Alexandru Munteanu.

The PM added that, in the last four years, more than 2 billion lei had been invested in equipping educational institutions. The allocated financial resources were used to modernize 265 schools and kindergartens, mostly through the European Village programme, and to renovate more than 40 nursery groups, in order to support young families.

In the coming years, the authorities plan to invest 6 billion lei in the equipping and modernization of the education system.
