Daily allowances for children in placement services to be indexed from 1 April
Starting 1 April, the allowances granted to children left without parental care who are placed in placement services will be indexed. The decision was approved today by the Government.
Thus, the allowances will increase from 25 lei to 27 lei for regular days, from 204 lei to 218 lei on the child’s birthday, and from 145 lei to 155 lei on holidays.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru said at the Government meeting that in 2026 it is estimated that 2,625 children placed in placement services will benefit from the daily allowance.
The allowances are provided starting from the fifth grade until the child reaches the age of 18.
According to legal provisions, the amount of daily allowances granted to children in placement services is indexed annually on April 1. The indexation coefficient corresponds to the annual increase in the consumer price index for the previous year.
According to data presented by the territorial guardianship authorities, including from the municipality of Chișinău and Gagauzia, during 2025 a total of 2,399 children benefited from the daily allowance.
