Moldova's General Police Inspectorate alerts about false messages sent via email in name of institution

The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) informs that, in recent days, false content messages have been sent to citizens' email addresses, allegedly on behalf of from the Police.

According to the IGP, cybercriminals are sending a so-called "summons," in which the recipient is accused of committing a crime. To make it appear legitimate, they use public institution logos and the names of their leaders. Subsequently, the targeted person is asked for personal data, confidential information or money under the pretense of avoiding punishment.

In the context, the authorities urge citizens to be vigilant, always verify information from official sources, not respond to such messages and not click on links within them.

If you receive such a message, immediately notify the Police at Service 112 or contact the nearest police unit.
