Raids take place in more locations across Moldova in corruption file related to amnesty process

Officers from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (PA), along with those from the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) and the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI), have conducted searches in more locations across Moldova, as part of a criminal case involving possible acts of corruption by individuals involved in the implementation of the amnesty granted on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s Independence.

According to PA, the case also concerns the enforcement of provisions from Articles 91 and 92 of the Criminal Code, which led to the release from detention of more individuals sentenced to life imprisonment.

As a result of the searches, documents and other items considered relevant to the investigation were seized.

Authorities announce that criminal proceedings will continue.
