More resident gastroenterologists have participated in the second edition of the educational course, Endoscopic Management of Colorectal Lesions and GI Bleeding. The event was organized by the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) and FUJIFILM Healthcare Academy.

The course gave participants the opportunity to update their knowledge in line with modern practices in digestive endoscopy, with a focus on advanced techniques, clinical decision-making algorithms and the management of complex cases. It brought together physicians interested in the latest approaches to endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of colorectal lesions and gastrointestinal bleeding.

“Following the success of the first edition held in January 2025, the continuity of this educational programme, with the participation of renowned lecturers and the discussion of current topics, reflects the growing interest of the medical community in improving endoscopic techniques and implementing the latest standards of patients’ care,” noted Professor Eugen Tcaciuc, Head of the Gastroenterology Discipline.

During the course, lecturers presented the latest recommendations on the evaluation and treatment of colorectal lesions, modern endoscopic resection techniques, prevention and management of complications, as well as current strategies for controlling upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. The course programme included clinical examples, practical demonstrations and interactive discussions, giving participants the opportunity to analyze situations frequently encountered in medical practice. A defining component of the course consisted of hands-on sessions, where physicians were able to practice modern endoscopy techniques on simulators.

The course highlighted the essential role of continuing medical education in developing professional competencies and improving the quality of medical care in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy. At the same time, the event encouraged the exchange of experience between specialists from different countries and contributed to strengthening professional relationships in the field of gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy.
