Three distinctions for Moldova at International Biology Olympiad

The national Olympiad team of Moldova has won two bronze medals and an honorable mention at the 37th edition of the International Biology Olympiad, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 10-19.

The competition brought together 305 students from 79 countries. Moldova was represented by four students.

The team of the Republic of Moldova was coordinated by Mihai Leșanu, PhD in Biology and associate professor at Moldova State University, as team leader, and by Constantin Babuc, international Olympian and student at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as deputy leader.

The Education and Research Ministry and the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment congratulated the awarded students, their teachers and parents. The institutions also expressed their gratitude to the members of the Republican Biology Olympiad Council for their contribution to the training of the national team.
