Marcel Dumbravan gets highest score in competition for leadership of Moldova's Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office

Marcel Dumbravan and Octavian Iachimovschi, the two candidates registered for the competition for the position of chief prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (PA), today participated in the interview phase. After the interview, Dumbravan achieved the highest score.

The special pre-selection committee for candidates for the position of chief prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office today conducted the second stage of the competition, consisting of interviews with those deemed eligible.

According to the committee's decision, both candidates met the eligibility requirements and the final scores were set as follows: Marcel Dumbravan – 8.7 points; Octavian Iachimovschi – 8.1 points.

Under the law, candidates have a period of three days to formulate any objections to the committee's decision. In the absence of such objections, the pre-selection results will be sent to the Superior Council of Prosecutors, which will organize the final selection stage.

During this stage, the candidate to be proposed to the General Prosecutor for official appointment as chief prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will be designated.

Presently, the interim position of head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is held by Marcel Dumbravan. The position became vacant following the resignation of Veronica Dragalin.
