Miracle at Gheorghe Paladi Hospital from Moldovan capital: baby boy born at just 25 weeks of gestation discharged in good health
A baby boy, born at just 25 weeks of gestation and weighing only 750 grams, has been discharged in good health together with his mother. He received medical care at the Gheorghe Paladi Municipal Clinical Hospital.
The first weeks were decisive. Doctors and nurses from the Neonatal Intensive Care Units 1 and 2 fought tirelessly for this child’s life, providing specialized care and continuous monitoring. Thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the medical teams, the baby overcame critical moments and took the next step on his path to life.
Subsequently, the baby was transferred to the Newborn Care and Recovery Unit, where constant efforts were made by the entire team to support his recovery. The boy was discharged weighing 3,500 grams.
In Moldova, approximately 5–6 per cent of newborns are born prematurely, before the full gestational term. In 2024, this percentage amounted to about 1,500 premature babies who required specialized medical care from the very first moments of life.
