Moldova, India to conclude agreement to prevent and combat illegal migration and human trafficking
The Republic of Moldova and India will conclude an Agreement aimed at preventing and combating illegal migration, illegal trafficking of migrants and human trafficking. Members of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration have approved the advisory opinion for initiating negotiations on the draft agreement on partnership for migration and mobility between the government of our country and the government of India.
The treaty will include rapid, transparent and efficient procedures for identifying, returning and readmitting persons who do not meet the entry or stay conditions in the territory of the Republic of Moldova or India.
The document will see provisions related to the rights of immigrant citizens. This includes the right to study and education, research and vocational training, or the right to employment. The provisions will also refer to obligations for the signatory states, including providing assistance for the reintegration of their own citizens.
Representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will be involved in the negotiation process.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova has similar agreements concluded with the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Community.
