Sixteen fire trucks, 100 firefighters deployed at fire in Botanica district of Moldovan capital

A large-scale fire broke out at a furniture warehouse in the Botanica districts of Moldova’s capital today afternoon. To extinguish the fire, a heightened intervention level was activated, with 16 intervention fire trucks and approximately 100 firefighters mobilized.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), four fighting sectors were organized on-site, where firefighter teams are working intensively to localize and fully extinguish the fire.

Part of the personnel is involved in evacuating goods from inside the warehouse, in order to limit material damage.

No casualties have been reported so far. The intervention is ongoing, and specialists are set to establish the circumstances of the fire outbreak.
