Large-scale firefighters' intervention in Moldovan capital after fire engulfs furniture warehouse

A major fire broke out at a furniture warehouse in the Botanica districts of the Moldovan capital today afternoon. More intervention teams were dispatched to the scene.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), Liliana Puscasu, said that firefighters had been mobilized at heightened intervention level no. 2, after the call to the 112 Service was registered at 17:08.

According to the cited source, the flames affected a large area of the warehouse. Several intervention teams were sent to the scene, and the operational forces created three battle sectors to limit and extinguish the fire.

The intervention is ongoing. No casualties have been reported so far.
