The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) today launched the www.eduresurse.gov.md platform, the first national open educational resources platform of Moldova, bringing together tens of thousands of materials for teachers, students and parents. The resources are organized by grade and subject and can be accessed free of charge.

The platform brings together in one place materials developed by the MEC, educational institutions and development partners, enabling teachers to more easily find worksheets, lesson plans, textbooks, video materials and other resources needed for classes.

“This platform is part of our efforts to advance the digitalization of schools and the learning process as quickly as possible and, at the same time, it perfectly complements our efforts to democratize access, because teachers and students will find useful resources here that will save their time needed to develop them independently,” said Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun.

According to the minister, tens of thousands of materials are already available on the platform, structured by grade and subject. The organization of the content is meant to facilitate the identification and use of resources by teachers, students and, potentially, parents.

The launch of the platform is part of the digitalization and modernization of the education system and aligns with efforts to bring national institutions closer to European standards.

Speaking at the event, European Union Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piorko highlighted the EU’s support for the development of the country’s education system.

“This launch represents an important step toward broader access to quality educational materials for teachers, students and families across the country. A country at the heart of Europe is shaping its future by transforming scattered educational resources into a national asset,” said Ivona Piorko.

Meanwhile, UNICEF Representative in Moldova Dejana Kostadinova stressed that the digitalization of education must be viewed in the context of rapid technological transformations.

“A country with fewer children cannot afford to lose the potential of any of them. Digital education is not only about introducing a new tool; it is part of a broader transition toward a system capable of supporting lifelong learning. The children who are in school today will live and work in a world shaped by artificial intelligence and rapid technological change,” explained Dejana Kostadinova.

The www.eduresurse.gov.md platform was developed with the financial and technical support of the European Union, United Nations Children’s Fund and the United Nations Development Programme, and provides users across the country with free access to educational resources.
