MFA: Moldovan citizens not among victims of attack on airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announces that to date, no citizens of the Republic of Moldova have been identified among the people killed or injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which occurred on October 10.

According to the MFA, the incident resulted in 12 deaths and 309 injuries, while airport operations have been suspended.

“The information held by the diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates indicates that no citizens of the Republic of Moldova have been identified among those killed or injured. At the same time, the emergency telephone line of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi has not received any requests for consular assistance from Moldovan citizens in connection with this incident,” the institution announced.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova continues to monitor the developments and remains in contact with the relevant authorities to verify any information concerning Moldovan citizens who may be in the affected area.

The MFA will provide further information depending on the evolution of the situation and the data confirmed by the competent authorities.
