Moldovan policemen, carabineers to receive modern tactical equipment on behalf of Turkey
The policemen and carabineers will benefit from modern tactical equipment provided by Turkey. The cabinet of ministers today approved the initiation of negotiations and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Interior Ministry (MAI) of Moldova and the Ministry of Interior of Turkey.
The agreement aims at providing necessary equipment, in order to improve the response and intervention capabilities of public order structures.
Under the document, the General Police Inspectorate and the General Inspectorate of Carabineers will be equipped with two patrol minibuses, as well as individual protective gear.
“The signing of this Memorandum represents an important step in developing Moldovan-Turkish cooperation, under fair and mutually advantageous conditions. The document will serve as a useful tool for future collaborations in the field of security,” MAI said.
According to the authorities, the new equipment will strengthen crime prevention activities, ensure faster and more efficient interventions in backing citizens and contribute to maintaining public order and safety.
