National contest of young, elderly people discovering Europe together starts in Moldova

The national contest, EU & My Grandparents, which brings together over 50 teams made up of two grandchildren and two grandparents from across Moldova, starts on August 19. The event will take place during three days in more settlements:

August 19 – the village of Rautel, Falesti district (City Hall building, 2nd floor)

August 20 – the village of Valeni, Cahul district (Cultural Center)

August 21 – the city of Stauceni (courtyard of "Dragoș Vodă" Theoretical Lyceum)

The competition will begin each day at 10:00 AM.

The contest aims to bring generations closer and create a bridge between the past, present, and future through creative activities, games and interactive dialogues. Students from grades V–VIII, along with their grandparents, will go through various challenges: questions about European history and culture, team games and role-playing exercises.

From each region, one winning team will be selected for the grand prize – a trip to a European capital.

The contest is organized by the Bureau for European Integration, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Association of Intellectual Games of Moldova and the National Youth Agency, with support on behalf of the Delegation of the European Union to Chisinau, United nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Moldova, CASMED, Moldcell Foundation and Medpark Foundation.

The public is invited to participate and support the teams in this unique intergenerational experience.
