Optimization of coordinated control at Moldovan-Romanian border discussed in Bucharest

The optimization of coordinated control at the Moldovan-Romanian border was discussed in Bucharest during a meeting between Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Daniella Misail-Nichitin and acting Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Romania Cătălin Predoiu.

The discussions focused on optimizing coordinated control at the Moldovan-Romanian border and advancing negotiations on bilateral agreements. The measures will contribute to easing cross-border traffic, facilitating mobility for families, employees, and students.

Daniella Misail-Nichitin welcomed Romania's accession to Schengen area, calling it an essential step for the region's connectivity and security. Additionally, combating hybrid threats and misinformation held an important place on the agenda.

The officials agreed on the necessity of strengthening bilateral cooperation through the exchange of experience and the development of common prevention and response mechanisms.

In Bucharest, the official had meetings with Senator Nicoleta Pauliuc, Chairwoman of the Committee for Defense, Public Order, and National Security in the Romanian Senate. The discussions focused on accelerating legislative and institutional cooperation to promote a strong security culture and increasing the involvement of women in decision-making processes, vital aspects for adapting to new security challenges.

Daniella Misail-Nichitin is on an official visit to the Romanian capital today.
