Performance of students from Moldova at Balkan Physics Olympiad: gold, bronze medals and special prize
Students from the Republic of Moldova won a gold medal, a bronze medal, and a special prize at the Balkan Physics Olympiad, held in Turkey.
The gold medal was awarded to Victor Sandu, a student at Orizont Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău. The bronze medal was obtained by Daria Boguș, a student at the same educational institution, while the special prize was awarded to Damian Mîrza, a student at the Republican Theoretical Lyceum Aristotel in Chișinău.
The 8th edition of the Balkan Physics Olympiad took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from June 27 to 30, 2026. The competition gathered 51 students from 13 countries. The Republic of Moldova was represented by four students and two teachers.
