Chisinau, September 14, 2026 - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had meetings with President of the National Assembly of Slovenia Zoran Stevanović and Vice-President of the National Assembly, Danijel Krivec, during his working visit to Slovenia.

At his meeting with his counterpart, Zoran Stevanović, Igor Grosu discussed the European path of Moldova and the progress made in fulfilling the accession reforms. “This autumn is a very important period for us: we are set to adopt around 200 drafts that will bring us even closer to European standards and to our goal of becoming a member state of the European Union,” the parliament speaker said.

In the context, the Moldovan speaker noted that “Slovenia’s experience is valuable for Moldova. Slovenia used the prospect of accession to carry out reforms, modernize its institutions and integrate rapidly and successfully into the European Union.”

Igor Grosu expressed gratitude for the constant support which Moldova receives on behalf of Slovenia: “Slovenia’s support for our European path matters all the more, because it comes from a country that knows from its own experience how much joining the EU can transform a small country with great ambitions.”

These days, the Moldovan parliament speaker is conducting working visits to Slovenia and Hungary. The agenda includes meetings with high-ranking officials from the two countries, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation, as well as supporting Moldova’s progress in the European integration process.
