The General Inspectorate of Carabineers (IGC) has been equipped with new transport means purchased within the European projects PEGASUS and CQB GUARD, co-financed by the European Union. The vehicle keys were handed over during an official ceremony today.

According to the IGC, two Ford minibuses were purchased within the project PEGASUS – Public Event Governance & Assembly Security Unified System. They will facilitate staff transportation and contribute to the smooth performance of service activities.

At the same time, within the project, Development of Intervention Capacity in Special Operations Conducted in Urban Environments for Cross-Border Missions – CQB GUARD, a trailer meant for transporting service dogs was purchased. It will enable the dogs to be safely transported to mission locations.

The three transport means will be used in the carabineers day-to-day activities and in missions where mobility, speed and efficient organization are essential. The minibuses will support staff transportation under improved conditions, while the specialized trailer will allow service dogs to be transported safely and in compliance with the conditions required for intervention.

„Through these acquisitions, the IGC is strengthening its logistical and operational capacities and creating better conditions for carrying out its service missions. The investments made through the two European projects directly contribute to enhancing the efficiency of interventions and ensuring a prompt and professional response in situations requiring the presence of carabineers, including cross-border missions,” the institution emphasized.

The projects, PEGASUS – Public Event Governance & Assembly Security Unified System and Development of Intervention Capacity in Special Operations Conducted in Urban Environments for Cross-Border Missions – CQB GUARD are co-financed by the European Union through the INTERREG NEXT Romania–Moldova Programme 2021–2027.
