Speaker after meeting with Moldovan entrepreneurs in Italy: We can make Moldova more attractive for investment

Speaker Igor Grosu met in Rome with Moldovan businesspeople settled in various regions of Italy. The discussions focused on the entrepreneurs’ experience, business development in a competitive environment, and ways to make the Republic of Moldova more attractive for investment.

According to the Speaker, the Moldovan community in Italy is consolidated and well integrated into the localities where its members live. He noted that citizens of the Republic of Moldova are appreciated for their discipline, hard work, and conduct, contributing to the development of the communities they are part of.

“Throughout all these years, many of them have made a full contribution to Italy’s economic prosperity, not only through their work but also through the businesses they run and which grow year after year,” he said.

The meeting in Rome was attended by Moldovan entrepreneurs active in fields such as hotels and restaurants, transport and logistics, financial consultancy, construction, technical installations for maritime vessels, and the installation of optical fiber for European telecommunications companies.

Igor Grosu emphasized that Moldovan businesspeople had managed to establish themselves in a competitive economic environment through hard work and perseverance.

The discussions focused on the experience accumulated by entrepreneurs in Italy and ways in which the Republic of Moldova can become more attractive for investment, including by capitalizing on the experience and initiatives of businesspeople originally from the country.

Grosu is participating in the European Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the member states of the Council of Europe, taking place in Rome on October 15–16, 2026.

On the sidelines of the conference, he has bilateral meetings scheduled with counterparts from several countries, as well as meetings with Moldovan entrepreneurs from Italy.
