Prime Minister on World Day for Cultural Diversity: Only through unity, dialogue and mutual understanding can we build European, modern and united Moldova

Only through unity, dialogue and mutual understanding can we build a European, modern and united Moldova. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu conveyed the message on World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

According to the Prime Minister, every ethnic community in the Republic of Moldova brings a unique value to our national heritage: from crafts and traditions to historical memory and attachment to this land. This diversity represents a true cultural wealth that we have a duty to preserve and cherish, the official said.

“On the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we express our appreciation to all those who make the Republic of Moldova an example of harmonious coexistence. Only through unity, dialogue and mutual understanding can we build a European, modern and united Moldova,” he stressed.

Alexandru Munteanu added that regardless of the language we speak, we are united by the same fundamental values: the desire for peace, respect for human dignity, care for family and the commitment to build a prosperous future at home.

“This is Moldova we aspire to: a country in which every citizen, regardless of ethnic origin, the language spoken at home or in public, or the religion they profess, is respected and benefits from opportunities for development,” Munteanu emphasized.

May 21 was established at the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, which celebrates not only the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue in achieving peace and sustainable development.
