VIDEO // Support message from President before Eurovision final: Moldova deserves to be heard

President Maia Sandu delivered a message of support ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest final, which will take place this evening in Vienna. The head of state urged Moldovans from the diaspora to cast their vote for Satoshi, stressing that Moldova deserves to be heard.

"Moldova has come together through song and dance and has shown the world what Moldovans are like: beautiful, talented and free. Satoshi has made the name of our country applauded on the Eurovision stage. Moldova deserves to be heard," Maia Sandu said in a video message posted on her official Facebook page.

The President noted that Moldovans everywhere will admire Satoshi today with hearts full of pride.

"Dear Vlad, sing and conquer the world. Moldovans everywhere will admire you today with hearts full of pride," Maia Sandu said.

At the same time, the head of state addressed a special message to citizens from the diaspora, whom she urged to support through their vote our country’s representative, Satoshi.

"Dear diaspora, vote for our song and let’s make Moldova victorious," Maia Sandu concluded.

Satoshi, the representative of the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision 2026, will take the stage this evening in Vienna, where he will compete in the grand final of the music contest. The artist will perform 16th, in the second half of the show.

The Republic of Moldova qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 final following its performance in the first semi-final, held on May 12 in Vienna. Satoshi opened the contest then with the song “Viva, Moldova!” and secured one of the 10 available spots for the grand final on May 16.

According to the organizers, both in the semi-finals and in the final, the contest results are determined 50% by the public vote and 50% by the scores awarded by national juries.

Citizens will be able to cast their vote through several methods, depending on the country: via the official Eurovision Song Contest app, online voting on the www.esc.vote platform, by SMS or by phone call, using the numbers provided by national broadcasters during the live transmissions.

Fans from the Republic of Moldova do not have the possibility to vote for our country’s representative in the contest. However, citizens from the diaspora who are in countries participating in today’s semi-final can take part in the voting process in that country and give their votes to Satoshi.
